In 1793, the 8-year old son of the guillotined monarchs, King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette, was flung into Paris’ Temple prison. Then, according to competing legends, one of two things happened: [One is that he] was immured in a windowless dungeon, ignored, barely fed and left in his own filth.
