publicity (or a taste or flair for being in the limelight) n.: réclame
At 19, Fernando Bujones was dubbed the “Bad Boy of American Ballet,” the result of the young dancer’s outspoken views vis-à-vis the Russian defectors who had been given preferential treatment by American Ballet Theater. . . . Particularly incensed over the réclame attending Mikhail Baryshnikov’s defection and subsequent appearances with ABT in 1974, Bujones [said] “Baryshnikov has the publicity but I have the talent!” (John Gruen, “Ballet’s ‘Bad Boy’ Grows Up,” New York Times, 6/15/1989.)
