burst in (suddenly or forcibly) v.i.: irrupt
The Summer House (Samuel Goldwyn) proves again that even if you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, the old tricks can still be amusing when neatly done. This film is one more go-round with the gimmick of the colorful stranger irrupting into some colorless lives and improving them. (Stanley Kauffmann, “The Summer House,” New Republic, 1/10/1994, p. 31.)
